Daniel Alphonsus

CEO at The Examiner

Daniel is CEO at The Examiner, Sri Lanka’s first reader-funded digital newspaper. He has worked in research, policy and technology at Verité Research, the Sri Lankan government and most recently at Alibaba Group, where he led the South Asia fintech team at Daraz.

He regularly serves on government, private sector and non-profit boards or committees, and was a member of Sri Lanka’s first defence review. Daniel read politics, economics and philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford, and public policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
