Mahesha Kariyapperuma

Multidisciplinary Artist, Designer & Landscape Architect

Mahesha Kariyapperuma is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and landscape architecture graduate from the University of Moratuwa. Spanning visual art, spatial installations, game design, and textiles, her practice draws deeply from Sri Lanka’s cultural and ecological heritage.

By reinterpreting ecology, folklore, traditional knowledge and everyday symbols through contemporary forms, Mahesha blends research, storytelling and interactive play to foster awareness and education, and to question inherited narratives. Ultimately, she uses art and design to reconnect people with overlooked cultural and ecological systems, imagining new relationships between humanity, place, culture and nature.
